I was scrolling around Craigslist, bored, when I found an extremely thin leopard gecko, almost no fat on its tail and emaciated, and I started crying.

I don't know how to get this gecko, I obviously expect that it has a high chance of death but even if I was able to get it, how would I care for it?!

I don't want to get the post taken down because I still want some chance of getting the gecko, what do I do?!

Edit: I noticed that there is another gecko, may have MBD and/or eggs. I'm panicking now!

If the MBD gecko isn't emaciated, it has a good chance at a long life. Daisy, my rescue gecko has MBD and is doing really well. She resembled the first gecko when she was brought to us. Now she's a chunky, happy little gal. The MBD doesn't slow her down much at all, and she hunts her feeders like there's no tomorrow.

The really skinny gecko could come back, even with a parasitic infection, unless it's cryptospiridium positive. I took in two skinny geckos just like that and they ended up having crypto. They were in quarantine from day one, and thankfully it didn't spread to any of my other rescues. It was absolutely heartbreaking though.

If you can get those geckos and keep them both quarantined, they stand a chance. The skinny gecko needs a vet asap, and a stool sample. If it's a run of the mill infection, he/she could have a long and happy life. If it's crypto, it's already knocking on death's door.
