My little girl Phoebe has been with me for about a month. She came to me from a friend who couldn't "figure out" how to get her to eat. Turns out she had some sort of infection and was half-starved anyway.
So I took her to the vet many many times in the past month. We had some antibiotics to give her and some eye drops for her eye infections that she developed as well. Today while putting in her eye drops (I lather it gently with a cotton swab because she hates to get it into her eye), and the white stuff that was in her eye came right out on the cotton swab. When I looked into her eye, there was no eye there at all that I could see.
She's super skinny and won't eat and has been getting a liquid booster food that the vet gave to me, and now apparently she doesn't have an eye. Her other eye does have the infection too, so I'm afraid it's in the same state.
She's just not getting any better even with the antibiotics and it's been about three weeks since she's been on them. I don't want to give up on her but nothing's working.
I'm afraid she's suffering. No vets are open. A friend of mine who cares for a lot of reptiles has suggested placing her in the freezer to "humanely" put her down.
I'm not sure what I should do and I need some advice quickly.
