I have a ten gallon tank i set up for an emperor scorpion which i will be purchasing at the up coming reptile show. The tank is heat with a UTH,the surface of the substrate which is 3-4 inches deep is 70 degrees, but about half way its around 80 degrees. My question is is this good enough temperature or should i buy a heat lamp with a red bulb to raise the temperature during the day?

Thanks

A little higher temp (like mid 80s) would be better. If you're using a UTH, it should be mounted on the side of the tank. An emp will dig, so having the UTH under the tank is a bad idea.
