Super hypo have evolved over the years ,from a mere light yellow colouration to
a flaming orange-red of today. Tangerine tornado, HG tang, Blood gecko, Electric Tang are some successful examples of tang breeders. I believe it takes a pair of tang of the highest possible standard for line breeding to achieve that.

Has always been this qn in my mind if anyone had coined Hg tang or perhaps
tornado into your own tang line to start off with. I understand that acreptiles
had been workin on " Extreme tangerine" , combining the tangerine tornando into Hg tan as well as electric tang. Are there any similar cases around that anyone could share? Jus wonderin if Blood gecko started off from something like that, i see slight resemblance from the juveniles, perhaps the intense colouration of blood gecko set me into thinkin this manner. Anyway no offence to anyone, jus pourin out whats inside of a Tangerine fanatic mind.

Actually some of the nicest stuff will come from parents that aren't that nice themselves... That goes for all morphs and not just Tangs... This is where ''lines'' come from... You hatch something unexpectedly from what seem average parents and then work on heightening that trait by ''line breeding'' to similar or related animals... Breeding together two distinct lines does not make a new line... That would be called a ''cross''...

Yes Kooteepee just about every one here would have to use one of those lines you mentioned to start, I also believe that one of those "lines" you mentioned were already someones line, but a fancy name was placed on it claiming it to their line, I believe this to be more of a marketing problem and ethics issue IMO. But with that said most of the people that started a true line worked for many years, on line-breeding the best to the best, like Michael stayed. And the end result is only a few geckos that met a certain quality, out of hundreds. I don't want this to sound nasty or discouraging but
unless you plan on years of working with out-crossing a certain line and line-breeding that line with a common goal to make your line unique, the cards are stacked against you unfortunately. They're is no easy way. Best of luck to you, and remember a line is something that has its own special qualities that separates it from the others.
