After cuting open eggs waiting anywhere from 1 day to a week before opening the eggs. I saw that the ones that fell and didnt hatch where enigmas there are 5 or so like this I have had the siblings hatch no problem and they come out a awsome albino the temp dosent flex much at all medium is ethier perlite or ver. and peat moss 50 50 ratio no humid. problems the they are in just a reg deli cup . The incubator is 85 .Has anyone eles had this problem ? thx

^ I forgot in what, but I believe its a bird and there is a "lethal" gene which actually just makes the baby somehow die before hatching. I am not saying this is happening here due to sooo many enigmas already out w/o a problem, but I guess it could be possible since the gene is recessive and so it would only show up in a few ones.....
I have had a 50/50 hatch rate this year so I am not blaming it on the enigma gene because I haven't bred any myself LOL Its just bad luck.

The Enigma gene is dominant not recessive.
I KNOW, I was referring to the "lethal" gene if even that exists LOL And I cam up with the theoretical assumption ( just to go along with a hypothesis) that the gene would be recessive as it is in the bird.

I have heard of this "lethal" gene in fatties too, although who really knows? I suppose if it actually is in fatties it could be in leos too... I'd blame it mainly on bad luck though. There have been soo many enigma hatchlings, that i doubt if this "lethal gene" even exists, it is not strictly tied to enigmas. Then again its late, and I may not be making much sense anyway;)
