Entire Hovabator as an Egg Chamber?

Has anyone ever used the entire hovabator as an egg chamber instead of placing a seperate box inside?
I was thinking for the next clutch due after these hatch to fill the entire bottom of the hovabator with medium, place the screen on top of that, and place the eggs on the screen, leaving enough of a space between the eggs and heater.
Any idea if this would work?

I think if anything, you wouldn't want to put the eggs on the screen, as they would still need to be in the medium. It would also probably be a little more difficult to keep the humidity stabilized, since the medium would dry out faster. And of course, it'd be a nice big mess to clean up later!

Other than that.. I think, theoretically, it could work

Trying different ideas since the clutch now has been a constant batytle to keep the humidity up. I have these eggs on the medium in a sealed container in the bator and nothing I do works.

Seems to me that it would be harder even to keep the humidity up in the Hovabator using it like that. What containers are you using? And what method of water to medium are you using?

Albey's how to incubate page

Albey's had loads of experience, and these are his instructions for the most successful hatch rate. This is how we incubate our eggs (and it's only been our first season) but we haven't had a fertile egg go bad yet **knock on wood**

hope this helps!
