Epic thread- 10 geckos, 5 BCI, 1 BCO, 1 BRB - MORPHS, LINE BRED, more.. DUW

Hello everyone, I meant to make this thread some time ago but quite a few issues came up. Finally though, it's time to share my 10 geckos and 7 Boas. I don't think it's feasible to write about every single animal in depth, but if you have questions about any of them feel free to ask.

Lets get started with the snakes since, I didn't want to spam 2 threads and the snakes should be a nice deviation from the norm here, just a bit...

My First BCI (Boa Constrictor Imperator), she is now 4 years 11 months old and will hopefully be a mom next year. I got her when she was just a baby, as with most of my animals.

"Powder" female DH Snow (Anery/Kahl Albino) - from Reptilez

She's 7.5/8 feet long and impossible to photograph completely in her cage/indoors so I just have a picture of her head atm lol. Best to have her outside/stretched out but I have to wait until next Summer

"Pulsar" male Salmon (poss super) 100% het Lipstick Albino - from LegendBoas

"Apollo" female Motley 100% het Kahl Albino from - Morph Endorphins

"Ramman/Ramen" male "normal" 66% het Sharp Albino from Drew Hume

"Nibiru" female Hypo (maybe something more..) 66% het Sharp Albino from Drew Hume

Now for the geckos..

First up would be Lily, the female SHTCTB (paradox) (first gecko ever, didn't keep record of where I got her exactly)

Last, but not least, my 1.1 pair of Electric Blue Day Geckos.

They stay about 2.5/3'' in size and are perfect display animals. If you setup a bioactive substrate you practically never need to even clean it, so that's cool. Live plants work well with them and flourish unlike with most other lizards (yes, even the small ones) that would destroy them quickly. All around, very cool little geckos. Hoping to breed them but so far, no luck.

Beautiful animals! I wish I had room for boas. The colors and patterns now are amazing. I won two boas from the last RAACA raffle and had to gift them back. Kind of a bummer. Maybe in my next house...

Thank you very much! I have always loved Boas immensely so when all the morphs/line bred/polygenic stuff came in I was.. over thrilled to say the least And about the space, it's not so bad. The biggest females usually live comfortably in a 4x2x2 as long as there is a shelf in the middle of the enclosure to add additional floor space. A 6x2 is better but honestly most BCI females don't get nearly big enough to need that.

So in your next house, I'd plot out a nice little corner for a stack of 4x2x2 PVCs and you'll be set for quite a few Boas. At least 4/5 of them, and maybe a good baby rack for some breeding xD I predict Boa's in your future!

But in all seriousness, I wouldn't have been able to give those Boas away, even if it was the right thing to do lol. So I commend you for doing that, it must have taken a lot of will power I'm sure.

It was definitely hard to pass them up. They were beautiful. But hopefully we can auction them off and donate the money to USARK. That will make me happy enough. If it was geckos or the trip, I wouldn't have given them back.

That definitely sounds like a noble way to go about it! USARK needs all the money it can get to fend off those ridiculous, fear mongering bills against Burms and other exotic wildlife that will never spread far out of the Everglades really. And I sincerely believe 99% of the US reptile laws stem from that.. crap in the Glades, and all the fear mongering that comes out of it... "FREE RANGING COBRAS! KOMODO DRAGONS! FLYING SPITTING COBRAS WITH MACHINE GUNS AND NUCLEAR WEAPONS ARE COMING!" that kind of stuff.

I should note though, that I am not harping on the US over Canada or something.. no, we have that same nonsense up here, except its even more unfounded because there is no Everglades style environment in Canada. Not many reptiles can live here in the wild, for any length of time, even in the damn summer. Imagine the winter :main_robin:

Anyways, I'm sure next time you can find an excuse to not give them back LOL

Thank you very much, I took great care selecting my animals and I'd like to think it shows a bit lol.

PS- It only gets better from here, especially with the Boas
