So, I don't understand how 6 mealworms have escaped from my "escape-free" dish from Petco in the last 2 hours. This has never happened before. I cleaned the entire tank tonight, but I didn't do anything with the dish, so I don't see what changed to make it so easy to escape.

Maybe your mealworms are working together to boost each other out, like a prison break. Shawshank Mealworms. ;)

I started using the tin that Altoids Sour Apple candies come in. It is a pretty slick surface, so they don't get much traction. Plus, the sides are not straight. The top is actually beveled (sp?) inward all the way around, so I don't have any escapees. I will send a pic when I get home.

Haha, Shawshank Mealworms. Actually I took the dish out to look a little closer, and I noticed some (i'm guessing?) calcium up one of the sides. It was dried, so I'm guessing my leo was wet, got in her calcium, and it kinda dried on the side of the dish. It hardened and gave the side a little more traction. I cleaned it off and it hasn't happened since.
