Escapee!!!!!!!

I have two of my female juveniles that are housed together. They get along great except for feeding time, one is alittle more dominant. For this reason, I remove the less dominant one and feed her in a plastic container with a lid. Well two days after Christmas I went about my normal feeding routine, placed her in her container, put her ontop of the 6 ft tall rack and went about cleaning and feeding. Well with family up I got distracted and forgot to put her back in her cage. Two days later when I went to feed again, I opened the cage and my stomache dropped because I could only find one. Then I remembered where I had put her. I figured it had been warm in the house so she would be fine, but when I grabbed the container it was empty. One of the corners had been slightly pushed up and she was gone.

First problem is that she was six feet off the ground. I dont know if she fell or if she found a way down safely. I'm worried my mother-in-laws small dogs got her when they were up, I just don't know. I placed out a heating pad, bowl of mealies and water but nothing. It's been almost a week now and I am starting to loose hope. I feel like such an idiot, I guess accidents can happen but it still doesn't make me feel any better.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

That sucks.

I bet it's okay. Remember, they can defend themselves.

Here's some tips:
They likes going under things. It makes them feel safe and secure. The few times mine escaped a few years ago, they were always underneath the closest sofa.
So check under all the furniture in your house, starting at the nearest to the tank.
Also, they hide in bundles of clothes or blankets on the ground.

Hope this helps, and keep us informed!

i am going through the same exact thing right now. i went to move my 10 gal with my two 14week old geckos and realized my high yellow was missing. i have absolutely no idea how she got out. i'm completely stumped. today my mom and i were moving furniture around in my room, unfortunately she wasn't underneath any of the pieces. i also ripped apart my closet, no luck there either. i looked in all up the bedrooms upstairs, closets, under beds, behind furniture, and still nothing. :( goodluck with yours. hopefully we both will find them again

Jason I hope you find her soon!! I would just try and look around tight places. Maybe by the warmth of the rack or the Fridge....
Wish you luck on finding her,

oh no...I hope you find her *hug* a friend of mine is going through the same thing right now with one of her girls. I haven't heard anything in a day or so, so I'm thinking her girl is still missing too =(

My Mack Snow, Kaida, escaped once as well. Took me around 30 minutes to find her though since she really only had my room to explore. Found her under my dresser back in the front left corner. She made a break for it when I was working with something in her tank, she had been chilling out in the weigh tray I have for my scale (I had just weighed her), I didn't think she'd make it all the way across the room in the 30 seconds I had my back turned, but I guessed wrong.

It seems it's happened to a few of us, hang tight and I hope you find her.

Missdragonxo: I hope you find your girl too =( there seem to be quite a few gecko escape artists around right now.

Well good news, I found my little one today. Well actually my Great Dane(Bella) found it and I must say the little Gecko was holding it's own, hissing and waiving her tail at Bella. But all in all she is in good shape, actually looks a little fatter than when I lost her. She must have raided the mealworms or something. Well I am glad she is back after 10 stressful days.
