Exo terra light domes

Has anyone been able to use a 50 Watt ceramic heat bulb in the 7" 150 Watt exoterra light dome. They don't recommend ceramic but at that wattage I was wondering if it would be OK?

I don't have exoterra ones but my light domes would do fine with a CHE. Unless your house is under 65 for extended periods I usually recommend no over tank heat at all and only an UTH. Over tank heat tends to dry out the enclosure and push the temps too high so the gecko has no gradient to move around in.

Thanks for the advice I have a pad under half the tank. I was just thinking for winter I might want to warm it. They seem OK with the uth
