My Exo terra Incubator stops working last june, I had a free time today and decided to check it out.
found out that the peltier coil still having its resistance also found out that one of the relay had a failed contact or armature. Since no relay laying around I decided to install 1 of my new thermostat (suppose to be use for my herp room proj).
I cut the peltier wire coming from the controller board and soldered it directly on the 12volts terminal. In this set up once 12volts is feed in the incubator the peltier is powered directly (together with the fan)
I prepare the thermostat ang wall plug
use a dual stage thermostat for provision on cooling and heating. For the meantime only cooling mode is used ( I'll install heat tape for heating in the futre once the temp. here in my place drops)
also I drilled a hole for the thermostat and thermometer probe.
Placed the probe inside delicups and incubation medium (wit my usual perlite:water ratio)
Fire it up.
