Exploding egg

I have a problem with one clutch of eggs. Both were very long when laid and while incubating, both had one end expand outward. One even ruptured and its insides came out. The obvious idea would be to blame humidity, but Id already solved that problem before these eggs were laid. My incubator is water heated and I used to use airtight containers with air holes. So water condensated inside and the eggs molded. Now I use airtight contianers and dont do air holes. I weighed out the medium and water and everything. any Ideas? One egg exploded and one looks like the other one did a week before it exploded.

hmm, not sure. I actually dont use any air holes in my incubator in the female side, i have to use air holes in the male side though. I make sure to open the egg containers once a week to allow air exchange though. btw, Im sure youve heard of hatch rite? Its very simple to use, ive been using it and love it. No need to worry about correct mixtures:)

I don't have holes in my containers; just open them once a week. That goes for males and females. I used hatchrite for the first part of the season and my bag must've been too dry because I had eggs denting a week in and had to add water several times. They did plump up and hatch though. After I finished that bag I went back to Albey's method with perlite which works great for me...

If it's not humidy that made them explode I have no idea what could of caused it...

Ive made a post in another thread in this forum about an egg that was similar to mine. hopefully they have better luck than I did. But the other egg I have still hasnt exploded, its just long and streatched out.

Edit: and I check for mold like three times a week, so they get plenty of air. my new containers (the ones that are not too humid) are hard to see into, so I open them all when I check them.
