Eye Problems

My gecko has been having eye problems in which he cannot open both of his eyes unless I am bathing him. My setup consists of TILE. No sand whatsoever. I have a cool side hide with sphagnum moss and a warm side hide. The ambient temperature is roughly 75 degrees and the warm side is about 90. I have a water bowl and feed him about 10-15 mealworms every other day. Every time I feed him except on the weekends I dust with calcium. On the weekends, I dust with multivitamin. Any time he has had trouble shedding I bathe him to help remove the shed especially from his toes. Now he has this eye problem and it seems very severe because he hasn't eaten in a month. That being said, he hasn't lost any weight and still has a good sized tail. Please help. I am concerned I will have to put him down.

P.S. I will be hoping to get an appointment with an exotic pet vet soon.

I dont intend to be rude but instead of "hoping" why don't you schedule an apointment? There are many people here that are more than happy to help but the best advice you will get is to take it to the vet. Especially if it has not eaten in a month!

Oh and thanks for the great advice that I already knew
If that was the case we would not be having this conversation.
Again, I did not intend to come off as rude but it frustrating when an animal that has been having an issue like this for a month still has not been seen by a vet. This will be the only way you will get a sure diagnosis of the geckos issues so hopefully it can be treated.
Good luck.

If he's not losing weight why would you put him down?
Anyway of you know all these things why would you post about it? There's not much we can tell if you know everything about it. The vet should answer these questions.
Not trying to be rude, but its just obvious.

I was hoping someone would have had a similar problem and be able to tell me a little about how it was fixed but obviously i am not finding that.

Sure you can ask but most people take them to the vet, so I know people said this before but as soon as you can make the appointment, get there ASAP.
At least your geckos not blind, that would be a problem.

Thanks again for the common info being retold.

Um... taking him to the vet is the only thing you can do, honestly.

Anyhow, I am curious to know why you waited this long to take him to the vet... When a leopard gecko stops eating for more than 14 to 21 days, there is obviously an issue that needs to be resolved...

Geckos can have eye issues caused by many things, an infection, shedding issues, a vitamin deficiency, just a few off the top of my head. Obviously all of these examples would be treated differently. So it is very hard for someone to make any kind of accurate diagnosis without seeing the animal in person.
