Cupids eye lids got puffy a few days before she shed I didn't think much of it because it happens sometimes. She had a good shed but they puffy eyes stayed we went to the vet a few days later on 5-22 he put her on neo-polycin for 2 weeks 3 times a day. She shed again during this and still puffy. I talked to my vet Friday and he said give it a few days then if it doesn't get better bring her back in. Well still not better and I'm not sure he knows what the deal is so I am hoping someone on here will have an idea. He just told me to keep using saline wash throughout the day.

Thank You

I think the problem is that you are only dusting with Repashy once a week. Lack of proper supplements can cause these issues. Also have you checked her for parasites?? Lastly the warm side should be at least 90 degrees. Even a few degrees can make all the difference. Could you take a picture of her setup?

Yea.. You are supposed to use Repashy Calcium Plus with EVERY feeding. And the warm side floor should be AT LEAST 90 like Blaze said. I have my UTH on a thermostat which is set at 93. So the floor in her warm hide is always 90-93. I'm willing to bet Vitamin A deficiency.

Thank you I will bump up the warm side. My vet is big on only dusting once a week... Its hard when you get people telling you different information.

Trust me. I have dusted every single insect Ozy eats with Repashy Calcium Plus ever since I got her as a teeny little baby. She is healthy, fat and sassy. Never had any issues at all. Repashy Calcium Plus is MADE to dust every insect with. Straight up, if your vet is telling you to only dust once a week with Repashy Calcium Plus then they are a retard and you need to find a new vet. Start dusting every feeder with it and you should see a nice turn around. :)

Alright thank you we don't have many exotic vets around here I drive 40 min just to get to him. He always says its tough with reptiles because people don't bring them in enough to get experience on how to always treat them. She is shedding again today so hopefully that will help as well.

defo up the heat and increase your dusting. Their body’s are good at regulating vits and mineral intakes so should only absorb as much as they need to carry out normal cell functions. Make sure that it has Vit A and D3 as they are really important.

iv recently had a similar issue with one of my geckos, hes had eye issues since Christmas (swelling and excess watering).
I’m very lucky in the fact that i live close to one of the top rep vets in England (expensive but worth it). Sausage had been to 2 vets prior that just filled him with meds that never helped.
Long story short he went in last night for an exploratory op because this guy was totally stumped as to the cause as we had tried all the normal routs of treatment. I got him back today and turns out he had a blocked tear duct.
I was recommended not to use a saline bath on the eye as their eyes can be really sensitive to it, he’d recommended using cold tea eye baths instead as the tea has a very soothing effect on sore eyes. (Normal tea of course nothing else in it)
