Eyes always open?

Whenever I peek in at Flecko (through the glass...not touching his hide) he always has his eyes open. What's that about?


Also, I know they're nocturnal...but is it ok to handle during the day?

I handle mine during the day and it does not bother him.

I think its better not to handle them during daytime, let them have some good rests.

most of mine sleep during the day, but a few are starting to seem to adjust to a daytime lifestyle. It's just one of the lovely personality traits the animals have. We handle some during the day but generally around dusk.

I rarely even reach in their cage untill around 6 or 7...my boy though loves to be held and licks my fingers when i stick them in there then climbs on...I think he must be checking who it is before climbing on...I dunno though just my guess. but being they are nocturnal i would think they would be happiest being held in the evening. I also make sure they have eaten before handling.

oh the eyes open thing...if i glance in there most of the time their eyes are open too. I notice that they arnt really sleeping during the day so much as cat napping. they do it at night too...hth...I wouldnt worry...they will sleep when theyre tired.
