Eyes?

I didn't really think much of this but thought it was interesting and figured I'd see what kind of input I could find about it..

This is our Bell Enigma, who has some pretty cool eyes..

and this is one of her offspring, a Snow Enigma, who inherited the same eyes..

is this just some kind of Bell or Enigma thing? Thanks

Bell + the Enigma and you get those eyes sometimes. I have a MSBE on my site like that...

N8, yours is awesome! Weird how it is associated with Bell, but the Snow Enigma that inherited the eyes is only het. for Bell. I think he was also the only one to get those eyes, out of 5 babies.

Some of the 1 copy snow enigmas will get that partial eclipsing as well. I have about 5-6 that kept that trait even though they don't have the eclipse gene Jess. I also hatched 10+ MSBE this last year and none of them had the eclipsed eyes like their daddy. I guess it is a hit or miss. Steve Sykes had some 1 copy MSBE that had 100% red eclipsing in their eyes last season and they didn't carry the eclipse gene either. Kinda cool and weird huh?
