Eyes

Hello all,

My 2 year old female leopard gecko has not been eating very much for the past 5 months (hopefully brumation-related). She is housed with another 2 year old female.

This morning though, I woke up and noticed she has got a watery right eye which was closed (the left is normal), and on closer inspection, she seems to have what looks like a small scratch on her cornea, and the eye is cloudy compared with the other.

I imagine it might have been caused by the other leo's claw (they do climb over each other all the time!), and hopefully it's only irritating her and not infected, but I don't want her to lose her eye. Has anyone had any problems like this before, and how was it managed?

Thanks x

Why would you want to go to an inexperienced vet? Not only is it a waste of time and money, it doesn't help the gecko. If there is cornea damage, it will get infected without proper treatment.

Fair point, it's difficult to get to a herp vet, the nearest one is 70 miles away :( but you're right, it won't get better without treatment
