I totally failed this time in making a BG where my lovely geckos can live on. I used some expensive paint for canvas because it has to be done at the end of the week. Paint is save thought.

As you can see below the colors are crap, i learned a lot out of this XD. Holland does not have nice paint like you have england or USA.

Hey guys. Be really, really careful on what type of paints you use. Acrylic and oil paints (canvas paints) do contain heavy metals for that nice pigment color and those metals do seep out over time. If you are using paint from a tube, I recommend those cheap 2oz bottles of acrylic paint 100% waterproof and non-toxic.

Besides that your foam creation looks awesome!

I changed the color, and don't worry. I am still looking for the right paint that is safer. I will start grounding my other project next week.

I know this is bumping quite an old post, but I was hoping for some updates on your projects. In my opinion, those colours are great! They look very natural (especially the second one), and it's also worth noting I'm planning on stealing some of your design for my vivarium I'll be creating soon. ;)

I thought the 1st one was cool, it had some really nice shapes and the colors reminded me of a sort of modern Van Goe style.

It may not be what you wanted, but it still looks awesome! It reminds me of the inside of a volcano, would look good with some hot colored tangerines :)

i really like them both.. i might have a go at making something soon. i only have to wait a week now till i get my first leopard gecko.. i cant wait.... you have give me some ideas thanks for posting your excellent project.. keep at it, dont give up, unless you want to send it to me i dont mind.... lol..
do you have to cut it all then glue it all together to get the bumby shapes...?????
i gather that you have to stick the bits to make the hides together but im just wandering how you get the intrsting textures....
