I realize there's another feeder roach poll, but I figured it was time for a new one. It would be nice if when you voted for a given category, you made a post detailing why you chose what you chose, and what animals you feed them to.
I voted for both dubia and lateralis. Dubias are easier to deal with; but as food source I really liked the lateralis. They are smaller in size and have a softer shell than dubias. The only downside is that they are extremely fast.
I voted for Dubia. Although i have no hands on experience with other species of feeder roach, I have done a lot of research on a lot of others. I needed a Feeder roach that was a non climbing species, Slow moving, easy to keep and breed. the reason for this is because the fiance is deathly afraid of them so if 1 goes a stray then umm.. bye bye roaches. so these guys are less likely to climb out of the bin and get loose. if one was to get loose it would be easy to catch. the temps in my home can get pretty rocky during the changing of the seasons so i needed something hardy. so i went with the Dubia and i am extremely happy with my choice.
I would really like to hear from some people who have hands on experience with other species.
