Last night when i got home from work I observed one of my females eating fecal product as she was discharging it. She is eating crickets and mealworms on a regular basis and she is provided Reptivite. Is there something missing from her diet she is trying to get? Thank you for any information.

I remember reading something like this a while back, I can't remember where I saw it now, but the suggested resolution was that the gecko may have internal parasites which are disrupting the bacteria in the stomach, so the gecko will eat or lick it's feces to regain some of the healthy bacteria.

Sounds a bit strange to me, but im not especially wise in the ways of such things.

Edit : found it.

If it is indeed her eating them, then she may be having a problem with her stomach with gut bacteria. We all need gut bacteria for proper digestion. Thats why eating yogurt is recommended as it get the gut bacterias working. You can try offering a tiny amount of active live cultured yogurt to your leo from the tip of your finger. Basically, just a drop for 3 days in a row. Also, double check your temperatures to be sure they are correct. I would also have a fecal check done as that internal parasites can throw off their gut bacteria levels.
