Why are mealies with roaches and what is in that first pic?

The mealworms, while being fed water crystals as well, do not appear to be in with the roaches. I can see why you'd think that though

In the first pic is a freshly molted roach.

Mealies are in their own bin. Have 3 different roach bins.

Roaches are so great, once you get a colony established. You almost literally never have to buy feeders.

Lol I can't stand that feeling of something with lots of legs squirming in your hand. Yuck! I don't think i'd lik the taste o them anyway. I'm picky.

They give birth to live? I thought they laid eggs!

The lateralis roaches lay egg cases. Dubia have live births, although I've never witnessed one. That was as close as I've gotten.
