feeder worm sizes

Since worms seem to break the "distance between the eyes" rule like crix or roaches I was wondering about basic guidelines for feeder worm size. (Sizes based on local stores stock.)

meal worms
mini : maybe 1/2 inch long maybe as big around as the ink insert in a bic pen.
"regular" : about an inch long Tupperware pencil size around. (assume a couple people know how big that is ;) )
giant : i know don't use them... :D

supperworms
freakishly large about 2 inches and about double the girth of the regular mealies

Wax worms
couldn't find enough live examples to get a good size on them. :( looked to be a white fluffy version of the meal worms. a little shorter then regulars and a little plumper. like i said mostly dead so their size was probably below normal...

Silkies
don't carry them

Butter
don't carry them

Other??

Since they come in a handy sausage shape do they just munch and crunch them to kill them or tear them up into bite size pieces? I've seen a place or two saying to start feeding supers at about 40g. Judging by that would i give them worms about the length of their head? maybe 1.5 times their head??? Seems to be gaps between each size. so you go from feeding 8-10 regular mealies to 2-3 suppers?

still setting up my tank but wanting to get a good idea for what sizes I'll be wanting when. Obviously I'll be needing to do some mail order nummies if i want to mix it up any.

If you are buying your meal worms from a pet store, mini will usually mean something close to microscopic. Like letting a human have a lick of an M&M. Be sure to open the containers & dig around to check for quality--especially if you are buying a wax worm treat.

Ok but that doesn't tell me anything about the approx size of worm I'll be wanting to feed to a gecko...
