I am expecting some hatchlings soon (well, not sure HOW soon, but the eggs are incubating!).

I know I'll be feeding mealies, but what else do you all feed your hatchlings?
When will be able to feed roach nymphs and small crickets?

You could feed them small crickets but watch your leo if the crickets stay in the cage too long they could bite the leos feet and cause bleeding. You could feed them waxworms every once and awile. Waxworms are like candy to leos lol. When the leos get older you can feed them superworms too.

Hope I helped!

Thanks, Kara.

Well, if they can eat small crickets, I'll just feed small dubia roach nymphs.
I'm trying to wean ALL my geckos OFF of crickets (only my cresties and garg get them now) because I hate crickets.

I'll also feed mealies, I think.

Mealies are good thats what i feed my leos. We started a colony for our mealies so we never run out. They turn into beatles but you wont need to touch them. If you do start a colony put them in a large container so it doesnt mold. Just get some mealies from ***** or something and get some oatmeal to put in there for bedding and put carrots or orange cubes in there [they might say they are for crickets but they work for mealies too] and then go in there and replace the food every once and awile and you have your colony!

We have baby leos coming soon too and i just wanted your leos to be heathy and happy! Right now Morgan [one of my leos] is laying her third clutch! We have 7 eggs and 2 are hatching around May 30th.

I hope i helped you become a great leo parent once they hatch!

Thanks, kara.:D

I think I will just buy and refrigerate my mealies. I do not wish to start a colony.
I already have a colony of dubia roaches going, that's enough insect feeders in my house for me.:D

I think Dubia nymphs are just fine for the youngin's, lol. Dubias seem to come in all different sizes so I don't see the problem. Use your best judgment when picking out the Dubia you want to feed :)

my two little guys hatched a week ago. they were eating mealworms at first, offered them a roach they would strike at it but didnt want to eat it. the next day they ate the roaches now they are just eating roaches and a mealworm every so often. as i dont have too many mealworms and lots and lots of small dubia. I also feed all my geckos with tweezers as i dont want dubias everywere and i know how many they are eating.

I only feed mine mealworms and they grow really well on them. Small dubias will be fine, too.

You might end up rethinking the mealworm breeding when you see how many you start going through! I wouldn't be able to breed if I didn't breed my own feeders now.
