Feeders for one gecko

I checked at my local pet store and found they have crickets, superworms, mealworms, and phoenix worms available. If I only have one gecko, would it be a good idea to just go there once a week to pick up one of these feeders?

How much should I get for a weeks worth for one gecko? Also, are superworms and phoenix worms gut-loaded the same as mealworms/crickets? I know when I've gotten worms from this pet store before for my rats they come in small cups with shavings in them. Should I move them to a new bin?

Thanks!

PS - I don't actually have a gecko yet...so I have no size specifications.

Phoenix worms come in a cup with everything they need already. They are very high in calcium but are pretty small.

If your getting one leo your better off just going once a week to your pet store to get your feeders. And you could mix it up. Use your Crickets, Superworms, and Mealworms as your geckos staple diet. You can also give it treats of wax worms and phoenix worms.

Supers and Mealies should be kept in a wheat bran substrate and you should put like a potato or apple in there every 3 days or so for 24 hours for them to get moisture.

Crickets should be kept in a well ventilated container with plenty of climbing space. You should feed a LOW Calcium Powder Diet and you can use potatoes, apples, moist paper towel, or water crystals (NO Calcium added) for their water source. Keep them dry, well fed, hydrated, and give them plenty of room. You shouldn't have a problem since you only have one gecko.

Good Luck!
