Hey, so I have a couple questions. My geckos will be sub-adult.. right on the edge of adult. How many regular meals worms should I feed? Would 5 or 6 every other day or every three days be ok? Dusted with calcium also.
And how long can I refrigerate meal worms? Would they last a month or a month and a half? Let me know... Thanks!!!:D

We normally feed our geckos 10-15 mealworms every 3 days and they do just fine with that. The bowl we keep our mealworms in with the geckos maintain a light dusting of Cal w/ D3 and Vit. Meal worms that are kept dry can last in the fridge for a good month or so. Make sure to take them out of the fridge once every week or so so that way they can feed.

If you do what retribution reptiles said, under the right conditions we've kept them alive for 3 months in the fridge. Of course, you will start seeing more die off the longer you keep them in there... But the majority of them will survive.

That is good to know! Thank you for that! Will adults be ok with 5 or 7 meal worms every 3 days or so. Say, monady, thursday, saturday? Tell me about your feeding schedule if you can please! And thanks again for your answer! :)

I haven't gotten my gecko yet, I'm acting as more of a feeder care specialist right now because that's what I'm familiar with :). The schedule Ret. gave seems to be one echoed by many others on the forums for an adult. I'll defer to him:main_yes:

Ah ok! You are in the same boat as me! I am trying to do as much research as I can... I will be coming home with 3 geckos in about 11 or 12 days. I am really really excited! Hahaha! :D

Our adults that feed on mealworms typically are given 10-15 mealworms. During breeding season we typically will give the females more to help maintain weight through the laying cycles.

We normally like to get our adults to get on superworms before they start to breed as it is considerably easier to feed. With supers we normally go with 1 super every 3 days. Breeding/laying season it varies upon how often the female is at the front of the tub begging for food.

Why don't you just feed these new geckos like you've been feeding the adult gecko you've had for over a year... if you already have an adult leo you should know what you're doing.
