Feeding Amounts

Okay I have my little Zelda now. She's about 1.5 months old. I have been keeping a bowl of mealies in her tank with her. Before I go to bed I make sure there are five mealies in there (any more and they escape) and again before I go to work in the morning I top the bowl off to have five mealies. Once I week I dust with ZooMed's reptile multivitamin and another once a week dusting with calcium plus D3. Generally when I check the bowl there is one-three mealies still in there. Am I providing enough for her? Or should I get another bowl with more mealies for her?

She's beening eating anywhere between 3-8 mealies a day. That's enough right? And the only day she didn't eat she was shedding, so I expected that. Is it weird that she didn't have a non-eating settling in period? Maybe I'm just lucky. :main_thumbsup:

Any other suggestions are more than welcome!

PS - In case you're wondering my temps on the hot side are between 90-93 and 80ish on the cool side.

I have another question while I'm thinking about it. Dusting! Grrr. I guess I envisioned dusted mealies looking, well, dusted.

I have a little baggie with the powder in it. I throw the mealies in, shake, and place said mealies in the bowl. Really the only place you see the dust is in the little bands on their exoskeletons.

Am I doing it right? Should I be dipping them in water first or something?

Thanks!

I feed mine all they want, I keep the dish filled up.

I don't really do the shake-n-bake

I fill my dishes with a little vionate then a handful of mealies then a few very thing carrot slices then on top a mix of osteo form and mineral O

So should I stop dusting and just put a little multivitamin and calcium + D3 in the mealie dish?

And is keeping 5 mealies in the dish morning and night enough?

Thanks!
