Feeding in general

Frog Style

Hi guys.... Just got my little guy a few days ago. I have a couple of questions on feeding...

he won't take live crickets for some reason, he just ignores them. Is it best to cut their legs off and try that way? We also tried can 'o crickets but he ignored them as well.

I heard meal worms were high in fat for them (like they are to frogs), is this true? I've read stuff about Complete Gecko Diet, but only found products for Cresties... is there any for Leopards?

Also, tonight was the first ever I got to see a Leo shed... Wow... what a amazing thing to see. Totally different than a frog shedding! I think it took him a little over an hour to finish it all... He also left us some skin heh. About the skin and all.... Do we still need to feed him tonight, even though he had his share of skin?

Thanks :)

i personally prefer a mostly mealworm diet because they are easier to breed, relatively easy to gutload, and my leopard gecko just seems to prefer them over crickets. also with mealworms you have the advantage of leaving them in a bowl in the cage as long as they cant get out of the bowl so the geckos can have a constant food source. therefore i leave mealworms in the bowl 24/7. if your gecko has never eaten mealworms before then it might be a little hard to switch him over but not too difficult. hope i helped:)
