feeding mealies for the first time

I just fed my girl mealies for the first time and I have to say, it wasn't nearly as gross and weird as I thought it would be!

Even better, my girl didn't think it was gross at all and gobbled them right up!

Haha I bet all of my geckos are fed mealies. Did you feed crickets before?

Yup, just crickets. She's got no problem with crickets, I just wanted to add a little variety to her diet!

I was hesitant because I didn't want to see a bucket full of wiggles. Seems they aren't too wiggly, though!

First time I gave my girl a super she ate it like a piece of spaghetti, gross but oddly satisfying to watch.

Nah they not too wiggly when bought. Try breeding the food they much livelier and healthy mealies make healthy meals for geckos.

@hrford I lurked patiently just out of my girls view during dinner last night, but alas, my patience ran out before I could see if she would slurp them down like spaghetti. Maybe next time!

@marc26 I believe you! I'm not sure if breeding a mealie colony would be beneficial in my one-reptile situation, though. If I knew a few buddies in town that didn't squeal and run away from scale-ly friends, I would share a wiggly colony.
