Feeding Time

Is there another way other than fetching the gecko to let them know that it is feeding time? I feed them crickets (brown/black) my substrate is brown (coconut peat moss) so it is not easy to spot them so i always dust them with calcium. If I do not take out the geckos from their hiding the crickets will hide in the cage so I always have to fetch them and put the cricket in front of them.

Is there another way that is not that time consuming? (waiting for the gecko to eat the cricket or else I remove it?)

you can put the gecko and the crickets in another container. that way, the gecko can see them and will go after them.

My gecko ignores anything that isn't moving, even if it's right infront of him. When i have him in another container, a small one, he doesn't have to go far to get the food.

I wouldn't be so concerned with it. sooner or later they come out of hiding and the gecko will hunt the cricket down. then again the min the geckos hear the lid come off they come running out. the geckos dont even wait for the crickets to hit the floor they just circle around with their heads up until i start dropping them in. i dont really watch who eats what who got more or less they all look healthy so i try not to be neurotic until i see signs of trouble.

The problem is that with the fake plants that I have last time when I just put the crickets in the vivarium the crickets hid very well and the geckos did not find them at all. So I have to do something different. I think I like the idea of putting them in a box.

Also I have a male that he is not eating nothing but looks healthy. Should I worry? For sure he is eating his shed.

I have had animals in the past that i never seen eat but was always healthy and lived for years. my guess was that he was just shy and was eating when i wasn't around. and if geckos can't find crickets hiding in the vivi something is wrong. for me i dont like to make it easy for them. i like it if they have to chase them down and work for it. gives them something to do in my opinion. in the wild food isnt just dropped in front of their face.
