how old should be the female in order to breed?
i've read about weight and size too, that's important.

my female is about 5-6 months old, doesnt seem ready though.
the male on the other hand is definitly READY lol.

and also, how do i know when she is ovulating?

thanks!

it really has very little to do with age. when she is adequate size, her body will tell her to ovulate. a trained eye can tell when a female is ovulating but the best indication is if she accepts the male. at 5-6 months, i dont think she's ready so i would advise against housing her with a male.

yeah, they are in different terrariums actually. i split them up when i saw that he was gettin' in control of the food and was bothering her all the time. she wasnt eating and sleeping a lot. i thought it was due to stress so.....
now she is doin' better, healthy, eating crickets, should start with mealworms again though. been a while since she eat some...

thanks for the info guys!

Around.
I'd still stick the the rule that 55g is enough. I had an accidental breeding with a 46-50g and she still scared me. Just a heads up.

yeah IMO 50g is the bare minimum, some people breed at 45g's, but i wouldnt. The bigger the better lol

55g is definatly a safe weight to breed, but dont breed before 50g's or there could be some malfunctions...
