Female Behavior

So my wife and I was checking our group out tonight to see if there are any eggs yet. While checking the box(clear rubber-maid) one of our females who happened to be in the box, came lunging out of the entrance hole, mouth wide open and nearly bit my finger!

She's one that isn't even gravid or recently laid. I did check the box and no eggs and the 2 females that are gravid are still gravid. Seemed kinda weird to us. Maybe she's having a bad day? Our group is 1.6...housed 24/7.

After I was done, she went back in and several of the other females came in and checked her out...kinda like asking each other are you OK.

Anyway I just thought I would share some behavior that I have noticed with our group.

Sorry for the long post.

Maybe it's "that time of the month"?

Just kidding, she's just temperamental by nature or having a bad day. I have a female that does that all the time! All my other leo's (nine others) will allow me to put my hand in the moist hide without incident but this one female is very territorial.

I hope she's not HOT! I'll find out in another six months!

BTW the other females were not showing concern for the female in question. Reptiles do not form bonds or have emotional attachments to other reptiles. They are solitary by nature and only pair up for short periods of time during breeding season.

Yeah I think she's just a little temperamental or just a bad day. Since today was no issue with her at all.
