Female Gecko not eating

Well, I've had my female leopard gecko for about a year now. She always eats great and has a nice, fat tail. About a week ago she just suddenly stopped eating. Everything's fine, she is not impacted, temps are right, etc. I checked her mouth and it was fine. So the main conclusion is that everything is fine. This is what I do not understand because of the lack of interest that she has with eating now. Does anyone have any solutions? I'm a little worried.

Assuming your temps and settings are all fine, your female could be ovulating (as I had replied to your other post). Just do a search on "ovulation+not eating", there will be hundreds of posts on the topic. Just one week not eating is nothing much to worry about, as long as she is not losing a lot of weight. I have had ovulating females that went off food for months.

If you're REALLY worried that she has nothing in her stomach, you can mush up some worms and baby food and use a dropper to feed a few drops to her. The downside is you may stress her out even more. I would just leave a dish of worms or crickets with her overnight, she'll resume eating when she's hungry.

**The above is assuming your girl is not eating due to ovulation and not other illness.

Does ovulating have to do with breeding? Because my female has never mated with a male.

ovulating does have to do with breeding in a sense, but a female can still ovulate without a male present.

Females often go off feed when there ovulating, and not eating for a week is nothing...If she's healthy and has a fat tail like you said, Im sure she could go off feed for several months and be perfectly fine.

Its nothing to worry about, your gecko will not not die from not eating for a week.

Go to the sticky under the breeding forum, to see what an ovulating female looks like.
