Hello i was wondering if breeders have noticed if their first time female breeders ovulate early/ or late in the season compared to their 3 or so year of being breeders. Thanks.

Ok thanks. I would love others input as well. My first time female still hasn't ovulated and i was just wondering if there has been ones known to start very late in the season. Thanks

For me I think it's more climate then age, I live in northern Ontario and we have long cold winters, may of you have eggs already but my leos just starting to ovulate now so I am just plannong on introducing males soon .. even Feb is early for me, last year neither my first timers or older ones woke up from brumation and started to ovulate until mid March. I chose 'about the same time every year' but what I meant was regardless of the specific month all my females seem to ovulate close to the same time as one another. My females are also housed together and another post under this breeding section asks if there is a connection between ovulating females triggering other females to also ovulate. I'm not an experienced enough breeder to know if there is a scientific correlation but for me it seems to possibly be a factor because my are all ready for breeding around the same time.

I'm jealous!!! :D Wish mine started that early. I still have zero eggs. I just introduced my bearded dragons last week, they are awake early compared to last year too .. maybe our winter is warmer/milder this yr? Doesn't feel like it lol
