I have a 41g female that I adopted that was already gravid as the owner had no clue what do to etc how can I help the females chance thru the egg bearing state due to her low weight. In the past I just amped food supply to the said gecko until she has laid, anything else I can do to assist her? she has plenty of places to lay also.

sorry to clarify by low weight I meant low for egg bearing/gravid, she is perfectly healthy and eats like a champ.

Although 41 grms is too light for breeding Ive heard worse.41 grs is not the end of the world. The ideal weight is 50-55 grms.Try to pump her with food, see if she'll take a pinky.Keep a calcium dish in the tank. She should lay the eggs with out any damage IMO

both my mealworm dishes are lined with calcium but on the pinky feeding can anyone confirm or deny how useful this will be as many people try to deter you from ever feeding pinkies to leos,

also thank you for your input roger any help is appreciated

my friend who works at the lowry park zoo reported that 6 females in 2011 have laid eggs under 40g. is the zoo really that careless or is risky/normal breeding in the wild happen at much smaller weights prior to what we regard as safe in captivity?
