She is 2 yo. i bought her in october. She was fine ate well and gained weight. For a month she stopped eating but she is active, looks like she wants to come out, climbs her hides and crawls the side of her tank. Shes got a ut a cool and a warm hide and a moist hide which she really likes. What could i do to get her back eating? I feed crickets and mealies but she doesnt look interested.

She could be ovulating which could explain the uninterest in food. If she hasn't lost weight or if she doesn't look like she is sick, I wouldn't worry about it. She will eat when she is ready.

Im sure she isnt ovulating. She has a moist hide which i always keep damp. So she could lay her eggs if she wanted. Btw thank you! :)

Um.. Not sure you are understanding what ovulating means... It means she is getting ready for breeding and making eggs. If she isn't bred then she most likely wont lay any eggs. A lot of females will go off of food when ovulating. Think of ovulating for a gecko like a girl's pmsing. Have you checked if she is ovulating?

Ah sry i thought ovulating means she is ready to lay her eggs and she will lay unfertile eggs without a male. So you think she should be put with a male and she will begin eating?

Well since as you seem to be new I wouldn't put her with a male. Even if put with a male she most likely wouldn't start eating. Often times if a leopard gecko is ovulating she'll have pink dots on her stomach. Here, watch this video and the man will explain and show it better.

Mainly all you need to do is just keep track of her weight and how active she is. If she doesn't lose a lot of weight and stays active, she will be fine and turn to eating when she feels like it. Something that helps people to get the geckos to start eating would be to cut a meal worm or cricket so the guts come out a little and try to offer it to her.

Ah well, try researching a bit more and I'm sure you'll find out so much more about leopard geckos. There is a lot to learn about these little cuties.
