Female scared of male?

So I figured I'd introduce my male and female leopard gecko today when I did the female ran and started waving her tail and making it wriggle like a worm which I know they do when a predator is near by. Does she see the male as a predator? And if so how can I change this? As soon as I seen this I separated them in fear of her dropping her tail. The male was ready to breed and rattling his tail. They are both over a year old and both around 55 grams.
