Hi everybody, im kind of new to this leopard gecko community, but i have a problem. i have a pregnant tangerine tornado leopard gecko. shes big, looks healthy, but is kinda jumpy. jumpy as in seems kinda scared. ive had her for about a week and a half now, and since ive had her, she hasn't eaten at all. i try to feed her mealworms, and ive tried force feeding, but she shakes her head which causes the worms to fall out. i really dont know what to do, im jist worried that she might starve. i have a male mack snow housed in a different aquarium, which has never had this problem before. he actually eats a lot. but if anybody has any answers/solutions for me, please reply. thanks :)

wow. er... shes propbably not eating because she is pregnant.. being moved... trying to be force fed... and barely settled into her home...

shes probably extremely stressed.

its common for female leos to stop eating during pregnancy but with all this added on top of it. wow.
i suggest letting her settle in, stop pestering her, leave a small bowl of mealworms in their and a cap of calcium. get her de stressed and settled and hopefull shell lay her eggs, or reabsorb them and she should start eating again.

Where did you get her from? If a breeder did you ask what diet he had her on before you brought her home? She might be a cricket kinda gal, but I agree with Jordan, stress of move and everything else on top of being gravid, doesn't make for the best eater at the moment. As long as she doesn't seem to be losing much mass she should be fine. If you notice hger losing weight then you may want to consider more drastic measures such as force feeding or gecko soup for a bit to keeo her weight up. Maybe a waxie (but not alot, gecko crack there) just to get her back into the eating mode in a few days.

I agree, if you can show pictures of it all and tell us what temperature you are keeping her at that would be very helpful. I have found that many geckos that don't eat, aside from being stressed like Jordan mentioned, aren't being kept at the proper temps.
