females running away from male?

OK. This is my first time breeding leopard geckos. So if this question sounds stupid i'm sorry. So anytime my male approaches any of my females they run away. Is that normal? I keep 6 females and one male in a 90 gallon aquarium tank. Any breeding advice and male and female ratio tpe stuff would be helpful to.
Thanks

be careful not to stress the female out. mine tries to bite the males tail if shes not ovulating.

You ever walk up to a random group of females and try to mate with them? How'd that work out for ya?
Ok, admittedly bad attempt at gecko humor, but still kind of rings true. If any of them were ready to mate, you might have gotten lucky. Apparently, none of your girls are ready to go. Theres no real "gecko love potion" that I know of. One of the pitfalls of being a "breeder". Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. There are no guarantees here.

People generally keep a breeding colony 3-4 females to 1 male. Possibly for crowding or other reasons. Maybe want to try thinning out his little harem. I'm thinking they may be a little stressed being all packed into a 90gallon tank. That and/or just not receptive/not ovulating. Are they all of proper breeding size? Any have been bred before? Are you 100% certain they are all female and 1 male?

I'm happy to report that my high colored normal mated with my high yellow. I have been waiting for this for 1 year and 1 month today and they mated 2 days ago. There babies will be hetts now right?

back in the day, 1.6 was considered the optimum ratio; the maximum number of females that could be kept gravid by a single male consistently. we never used anything as large as a 90gal tank though. sounds spacious and wonderful to me!

you won't produce any hets from that mating since there are no mutated genes present in either animal. you'll get normal leos with varying amounts of yellow/orange pigment

good luck!

So I walked up to a crowd of ovulating women. I'm now in the ER and didn't get to mate. Gecko women must be different.
