Few questions on making a rack.

Got the plans and all that but just have a few questions on what kinda wood. Ive been seeing lots of people using the kinda wood that starts with a M(sorry it slips my mind terribly) is that the best? Its obviously for leos(hatchlings and juvis) so which kind of wood would you recommened? And how much does the wood run at home depot;well how much did you pay? thanks
