Finding A Vet?

Hello, I was wondering how i would pertain to finding a vet in my area. Is there anything specific to tell me if they will deal with reptiles? A friend of mine's sister is a vet, and she told me anybody that cares for Small Animals will treat reptiles? I was wondering if this was true? If so should i be calling Small Animal vets near me? I was looking to find my little guy a vet. Also i was reading about taking a stool sample in. Should i take him PLUS the stool sample or just the stool sample? I'm afraid of Impaction because he's so tiny and they had of course SAND down at Petco for him. I've read a lot about it, and I'm pretty certain it was Calci-Sand and i know it can be fatal. So I wanted to get him checked out. Other than he's in perfect health :). Please let me know. Thanks

FInding vets that will treat reptiles isn't the problems... it's finding a vet that knows about treating reptiles that can be a challenge. The first place to check is the ARAV (Association of Reptilian and Amphibian Reptiles) for vets that are members and referrals. This is a good resource as well: http://www.herpvetconnection.com/

Hi, Thanks for the website. I was looking everybody up in a phone book. I found a lady near me in Tiffin, Ohio that specilizes (sp?) in Exotics and Reptiles :).
