Being the animal lover that I am, I always had a home made first aid kit for my dogs and now Id like to make one for my geckos. With essentials in case of emergencies. So what would you keep in your first aid kit? If you could help me make a list of somethings and their uses that would be great! Looking for things to help in cases shed build up... eyes gooey... all sorts of things that may prove useful if need to help a gecko before it gets to the vet... Thank you! (ex. medicine dropper : to help drop slurry in cases of no appetite etc.)

What do you think should be in it and we can add to it from there so we're not like repeating things you already had planned to put in there.

maybe some of those hand warmers/heaters in case your power goes out and you need some heat for your leo?

In addition to some OTC things and supplies, I also keep several meds from the vet on hand. A lighted magnifying glass is very useful too. IMO, probably the most basic of things to put in a gecko first aid kit would be qtips, pharmacy grade mineral oil, and plain contact saline for sensitive eyes (emphasis on plain). Mineral oil is used for lubrication such as a stuck shed on their body and a mild laxative. Saline is a sterile wash, and can be streamed into an eye to aid in stuck eye shed, it has also been used by nurses for years to clean wounds prior to dressing. It's not a bad idea to accumulate the gecko slurry ingredients, over time, so that if its needed there's no scramble to get the stuff.

Being prepared is like having band-aids in the medicine cabinet. If you need one right then, it's a pain in the butt (bum for you Brits) to have to go out and buy some :)

Thank you that helps a lot... to be honest I really had no idea on what I was going to do... Just know that my vet is 45 minutes away and there are plenty of things that happen that can be helped at home... and I try my best to be at least "somewhat" prepared and my gecko family is growing. :)
