That look great for your first one! What did you make it out of and what kind of paint did you use that would be safe? I would like to make one for my Leo but don't know what to use that would be safe.

used polystyrene insulation sheeting 2in thick , and the paint is non toxic acrylic paint.. from my research as long as its VOC free it is safe check wal mart or lowes/home depot for VOC free baby room paint. make sure to let it air out for a long time.. alot of people glue theirs together im using wooden dowls so i can take it apart and clean it when it needs it.

I saw a video on how to make these on you tube I honestly want to try it as I love the idea of having a hide that you can see into from the front of the tank but is still private for you gecko. I was wondering how easy it is to clean as I would not want to make a new one every week. Also Im concerned about how it will turn out as I am not artistically inclined. Yours looks really nice though!

they really aren't that hard.. just be careful of the knifes o_O and the good thing about it is if they look rough then thats ok because rocks are not perfectly shaped ahaha

That looks really good for a first for sure! I've been tempted to try making my own hides, but got chicken. You've inspired me to at least think about doing it again. I took art as a minor in college, but not sure Van Gogh or Monet will be of any help with a hide! LOL!!
