Just wanted to show off my new baby. Came in from fedex this morning. He or she is a Mack super snow albino leusistic. Pretty darn cute [emoji4]
Any tips for first time owners? I know not to handle for at least a week and a half. And yes he's on Sami chips. I'm aware lol
I've got his calcium dish, mealworm

dish and water dish, 3 hides, 1 of which is a moist hide. Heat pad on the right side with slate. Any more tips would be much appreciated :)

I know you stated that he's on Sani chips.. Does that mean you plan to change to something else?
I don't mean to be THAT person but it could potentially kill him.. >.<
He's amazing though. <3
Your set up looks great aside from the Sani chips!

I also don't want to be that person but can't be leucistic and albino at the same time unfortunately... Leucistic is white with black or blue eyes whereas Albino don't have any black and I don't know of a blue eyed gecko as yet... Super Snow Albino is certainly possible and the most likely outcome though :)

Set up looks good, besides the substrate... Paper towels, newspaper, or slate tile. :)

Do you have a thermostat or dimmer yet to regulate your under tank heater? They can vary pretty wildly day to day in their output and a thermostat or a dimmer switch will help keep it steady. :)

Seems like you have the basics down. My only other tip is not to feed crickets. They tend to carry parasites and will pass them on to your gecko causing intestinal issues. If you want to the supplement the mealworms with other bugs there are better choices. :)

Do you have a daylight pic of your gecko or one that isn't with the night bulb? It is a cutie!

Quite a few people call Murphys Patternless a leusistic gecko, so that's probably what that part is. I'm actually having a hard time finding snows that have MP WITHOUT any albino hets, myself. Cute baby.

As for tips, make sure that he stays well hydrated as that's one people have to be careful about at first. And you mentioned knowing about him being on sani chips, so I hope you're planning to change that soon.

Not planning on using crickets. They smell and keep me up at night. I didn't know they carried parasites so I definitely won't be feeding them. This is just temporary. Planning on going to lowes tomorrow and getting some slate cut. As for morphs and such I don't really care. Reptiles by Mack just listed it as a Mack super snow albino lesusistic, not really a genetics kind of person so doesn't matter to me. I have his heat pad on a dimmer. This is him this morning. Trying not to disturb him but got a picture in :)

Aww! What a cutie! I'm pretty sure Reptiles By Mack uses Leutistic for Murphy's Patternless, but like you said it doesn't matter to you, so no big deal.

Glad you have his UTH on a dimmer switch and are getting slate!. You're doing a fantastic job for a brand new owner. I can tell you did your research! [emoji3]

Not sure if you have any day lights but keep an eye on them. A lot of albinos find them really bothersome with their light skin and red eyes. Usually you won't need any lighting at all (day or night) since they just need belly heat, unless your house is unusually cold. [emoji4]

Keep sharing pics of your little one as he grows and of course ask questions if you have any. You are off to a really good start so far, though!

Oh yes I'll post pics as he grows:) thank you! I only have a moonlight bulb for viewing. I love looking at my nocturnal animals at night. I turn that off around 7 a.m. I'm really excited about seeing him grow. I've named him Pinky:) thank you for the kind words and tips, it really does help!

Good luck! Your baby looks nice and plump, so once you get the new slate put in and get the tank temps steady, just give it a couple weeks to settle in and start eating/pooping regularly. You're on your way into the world of gecko keeping... :)

Now you mention the MP being named Leucistic I do remember reading something about that(though I personally disagree with it but hey ho lol) :)

So it's entirely possible your little one is Mack Snow Albino Murphy Patternless.

It's a little cutie though for sure!
