First time baby leopard gecko owner!

Hello,
Last Friday I adopted a baby leopard gecko from *****. I have never owned a reptile nor anything else in a cage or terrarium before. I love my little one. I named him (or possibly her) Ira.

Little Ira refuses to eat anything except crickets. I have been trying to get him to eat small meal worms too, but he refuses. Is this ok? I know it is better for them to eat more than just one kind of insect. I also bought him some vitamins, but they tend not to stick to the crickets very well. Should I let a very, very small amount of the powdered vitamins disolve in his water to be sure he gets some? Or should a put a bit on the end of my finger and have him lick it?

My little one tends to prefer the movement of crickets, he will eat meal-worms but it seems the more he eats the less he likes. Its good to vary their diet but if he only eats crickets just keep feeding him crickets. If you have the powdered vitamins/calcium just put it in a ziplock bag, throw the crickets in, and shake well. This coats them pretty well with the stuff.

Tbh, be glad yours is eating lol! so many people post that their babies won't eat :'(. Luckily mine did right away. I also held him right away and he/she loved it. But yea, a month of the same food won't hurt em I am pretty sure. MAKE SURE IRA GETS THE VITAMINS, that is crucial. Also hope you are not using any type of sand for substrate

I hold mine all the time too. Ira likes to sleep in the curve of neck and is really friendly with every one. I have a mat thing at the bottom of the terrarium because I heard that they sometimes eat the sand and it messes with their system. I am so glad he eats too. I was reading all sorts of sad stories about the babies online right after I got him and I was really scared for a while. The crickets keep shaking all the vitamins off by the time Ira eats them so I just put a teeny tiny bit of the vitamin power on my finger and let him lick it off once a day.
