So my girl, Slinky, finally reached 55g. I put Max in her tank. He is the same male that mated with her cagemate 1 month ago.

After some nipping back and forth, he took ahold of her neck. He worked himself into position, she raised her tail.... (I assume he "did the deed.) .....

After 30 seconds of him "in position" behind her, instead of her walking away.....she raised her back legs and she pooped on him. :O :O :O
---------------------------------

I assume he "did the deed" because he was licking his "exposed stuff" (yes I know what it's called..lol) after she walked away.

I am just wondering if:

1) anyone has EVER seen this?
2) his "deed" took "effect" or was negated, or possibly STOPPED PREMATURELY by her reaction?
------------------------------------

For now he is still in there (for over an hour). He has been rejected 3 times since then, but they are not getting violent. She nips lightly and then runs away. He will be going back to his tank soon.....just wondering the questions above...?? :)

I have never seen or heard of that! If he was "cleaning" himself, they probably mated - you'll have to wait and see if she's gravid. Very interesting though that she did that.

I am suspecting that it was another form of rejection. She may have just been too timid to physically reject him??

Yeah, I will have to wait and watch her. I don't know if he was starting, in-process, finished.... And I wonder if she "shoved his genetics" right back out of her vent when she expelled her feces....

I am leaving him in there for a while longer tonight. I hope she (Slinky) will accept him in a more "clean" manner....or maybe he can get another mating with Ruby (who layed her first clutch 1 week ago).

Well, more than 3 hours have gone by and they were all sleeping. So i woke up Max (on the floor) and put him 3inches from Ruby (sleeping ontop of the warm cave). She willingly accepted him for his "followup appointment" with a big gecko smile on her face. She didn't even care about the fact that they were clinging to keep from falling off the side of the cave!! haha!! :D

I usually pair my first time breeders every 2-3 days until they say NO with their chosen boyfriends and then repair them after their first or second clutch (depending on whether the first was fertile or not). My guess would be that there's a learning curve to storing sperm and fertilizing eggs with it so I give the female multiple opportunities to learn from her mistakes and still make pretty babies :)

I give them routine "appointments" to try to mate....that's not the issue.. I am just in SHOCK that she POOPED on him when he "did the deed". :O I recorded Ruby's first matings...guess I should have recorded Slinky's "unique" first-mating... :D
