Flexwatt questions for the paranoid

becoming very paranoid about UTH control and proper temps.

changing from rheostats to herpstat proportional thermostat and heat pads to flexwatt.
I will be heating three enclosures (shelf style) I need to serial connect flexwatt. To do this I just crimp a power cord to one end and run a crimp-to-crimp to the next section of flexwatt and so forth right? I am also backing up the herpstat with an on/off thermostat.

is this sound in theory?

my next question is

will I have problems controlling each enclosure with one thermostat? and where should the probe be placed? I was planning to put it on the bottom enclosure but I am worried that the flexwatt wont heat evenly. Am I just being paranoid?

If you're using a series connection with the flexwatt then there shouldn't be much variation in temperature between the levels because the same amount of electricity is flowing throughout each piece.
I place the probe right on the heat tape and then use a seperate thermometer to tell the temperatures on the inside of the cage to set the temps of the flexwatt. I do this instead of putting the probe on the inside of the cage in case the geckos move the probe and then the heat tape is going full blast. I hope that makes sense...
