Here check out this link. It explains how to do it pretty well.

All of my flexwatt is sodered like this. Works Great. But MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A RHEOSTAT or some sort of temperature control device because this stuff can get very hot if you are not careful.

I have no complants about my heat cable. It stays within 1 degree of where I have it set 24/7. I just rewired mine using the 100 watt cable. I am going to use the first 2 15 watt cables I bought on 2 shelves on a wire rack. Since I have alot of eggs about to start hatching I had to make room for them lol.

BE VERY CAREFUL when removing the plastic from where u are going to soder, expecially if you are using a sodering tool to do so with. Too much heat and it starts to melt the plastic away from the metal. That might cause problems, you never know.

WHat type of wire should I use? I understand I can just use a normal powercord but how would I Attach 3 shelvs to on cord? Or is it just better to have each piece of tape on its own cord?

That is a good question. I am not sure. It depends on how big of a rack you are building i suppose. I have to come up with an answer to that question also as i am building a rack soon. In the past i have simply done 1 wire to each shelf. Then i have them plugged into a temp control device.

I guess the bottom line is how many piece of heattape are you going to use?

Hopefully somebody out there can answer this question way better than i can.

I think this link will help to answer you question (if I am understanding your question correctly): http://www.beanfarm.com/heating/Flexwatt_parallel.pdf

And this is a great link for how to build a rack, with other information (also this is where I got the above link): http://www.geckoforums.net/showthread.php?t=14228

Hope I helped :D !
