I see that I can order the heat tape, and the connectors separately, how exactly do I attach these wires to a cord that will plug into an outlet?? And how do I attach the thermostat as well???
I know I can use one thermostat for all strips of tape, I know I need electrical tape but I cannot find clear instructions that I understand....

shows clipping them.. but how do I get them to plug into an outlet, or put them into the thermostat which I can plug???

We just got some into today! If you order from reptile basics, which is where we got ours, you will need to order how ever many feet of tape you need, plus however many connectors you need. For example if you have 5 shelves that are 4 feet long, you will need to order 20 feet plus 5 connectors. On the last page, I believe the payment page, there is a comments section. Just tell them what you need. For the example I made you would say, I need the tape in 4 foot strips with a connector on each one. They will cut the strips and put it together for you. Then just plug them into your thermostat and plug the thermostat into the wall. You may need to get one of those multi-socket things (I can't remember what they're called!). You will need aluminum tape to tape down your flexwatt and the probe to your thermostat. You can buy that at a hardware store. Did I explain that okay or just confuse you more? I could take some pictures if you want.

Want it even a little easier? These folks will wire the FlexWatt for you, for a pretty minimal price. Their service is outstanding! :main_thumbsup:

Edit: Yep, correction. Free of charge. That's indeed pretty minimal! :D

Reptile Basics does wire it all for you, for free. That's what I was saying, or at least trying to say!

They will cut the strips and put it together for you.

Thank you both soooo much!!! That makes it A LOT easier, not only to understand... but to have them do it is just GREAT!!!!! :D If I wanted 8 ft total, 4 strips of 2ft, would I need to purchase 3 wire/clip/insulator sets... or one? ( I see they have plugs, which I only need one of... but also wires?!?)

No problem. I have had several forum members help me out and thought it would be nice to pass the info along to help someone else out :)
