Is this alone good for gutloading crickets?
Our Leo has gotten bigger in the 3 weeks that we've had him but we just made the switch to Orange from the Flukers powder stuff. The crickets were getting dried up so I thought the Orange would work better.
Should I be giving the crickets something else to help our leo out?

I believe that can be used as a food and water source for crickets. Just make sure the stuff doesnt dry out or your crickets will dry out too!

So really just put a little bit in at a time... maybe as much as they can eat in a few days or less. I dont know how many crickets you usually keep... so you will just have to do some trial and error.

My only complaint about the stuff is that it smells bad...

I give my crickets, and meal worms shredded veggies from a juice bar that just opened. They give me the trimmings for free (I do buy the juice to be nice). It's amazing!! The insects dont have to work to eat it. When I get mealies in the mail they get obese over night. I mean really really fat. I also keep my worms off bran. I use ground up grain for egg laying hens. And I use repashy and a gut load my vet makes for the insects he feeds his chameleons. I know the juice bar sounds posh, I would joke me tooo. hahahaa But it's inexpensive and works the best.

P.S. the fluckers stuff seems weird to me. In my opinion its better to chop up some carrots and leave a little cap of water on the daily. Its all about what your geckos end up eating. Jell cube crickets of carrot crickets.

HOpe I didnt rant too much. :)

Thanks for all the responses.
As new leo owners we went with what we thought was easy, not knowing any better. We originally used the Flukers powder/dry stuff only and our crickets would die. It dawned on us that water would be a good idea. (rookie move!) I added a little cap of water and it was better but the powder still sucked. Tried the powder and a piece of veggie and that seemed better but the powder is still messy so we decided on the Orange stuff which does smell and is expensive. We just made the switch so I will follow up on how it works but it is easy.
We dont keep many crickets...we buy them in lots of 20 or so and give our leo about 2-4 a day (or every other) with a bowl of mealworms on hand at all times. We have been giving the mealworms veggies. Our leo has grown so I dont think he is lacking any nutrients (we dust with vitamins 2 feedings a week and dust with calcium regularly) and his tail is getting nice and plump.
Since we only have one leo, buying crickets in small batches works for us. There are about 3 PetSm... or petc... in the area so its not that much of a hassle. We bought one of those cricket keeper things with the tubes so our space is limited. How many crickets do you guys buy at once and for how many leos/pets? What do you keep them in?

bman...thanks for PM. I will send you a reply when I have a moment.

I only have my raptor male and he doesn't eat alot. I'd buy a dozen large crickets and they'd last 2 weeks. He'd eat about 2-4 large Crix every 3-4 days

I just keep mine in a large deli cup. Like the ones that the superworms come in and they live fine. I'm about to switch to strictly superworms so i'm just gonna go to the dollar store and get a cheap small Tupperware to go container with a lid for $1 and keep the supers in there.
Mine doesn't really eat many mealworms. I bought 200 of them on April 16th and I have around 150 left and I had some pupate but I gave those to the birds lol..
