FOG

What do you know about the Fogger? The little stainless steel device you immerse into water and then plug in and watch as it releases a barage of fog into your Cresties habitat. Its very cool. I bought one for my cresties for xmas. They live in seperate vivariums because of their age difference, but each gets about 10 mins of fog per day.

My humidity levels raise as high as 80 percent and keep steady at 70 by the time i fog the next day. I live in a dry climate, minimal humidity especially in the winter but Ive found this the answer to my slackness when it comes to manually misting.

I use a old plastic butter container, fill with water to cover the top of the device, room temp water only or warmer, the device can be finiky that way and not turn on. When the water has dropped enough the device will power itself off. I would suggest unplugging when that happens.

Anyway the point to this post and for those with a natural habitat who are looking for ways to maintain proper humidity levels, i would suggest looking into a Fogger.

Just another way to keep things interesting for you and your crested one.

Yah i need low maitinence, thats how i ended up with geckos instead of dogs and cats who need the constant lovin' or McLovin' if you prefer, hehe.

Great idea AllGeckos I will take photos of the Fogger in action and post them before Monday.

FOG pics as promised

So Ive taken some photos from both tanks that my two cresties occupy. Unfortunatly you cant seem them in the fog. Another good thing about the fogger is if you dont think your crestie is getting enough water well now you ll now he/she is. Remember its fog, it not the same as misting with a water bottle, fog lightly coats everything.

A regular size butter container fill water to the top of line. Fogger will stop when the water goes past the top of the Fogger, the handle looking thing, then unplug

It can splash a little, those metal looking things i use for balance. They are bbq skewers. LOL. When your in a fix.

Water temp is very important, too cold it wont work, room temp or warmer works best

For the larger aquarium you see here i leave the fogger on until it stops. If my humidity was at 65 before I started, it finished off at 80 and is 70 by the time i do it at the same time tomorrow.

Camera set to Tungsten white balance creates a bluish eeery effect

Jesus watches over my cresties

Visually its cool to watch as your tank fills with fog

water droplets form on the screen above

As you can see it does a good job at creating humidity for those living in a dryer climate.
